Request for Transparency from BMA

Background

There are credible allegations of multiple cases of abuse at the Light of Hope Orphanage. Information about the situation has been tightly managed. Multiple people have requested an independent investigation.

Some BMA leaders have expressed concern about using GRACE based on past experience. Based on discussions with legal counsel who have experience in similar situations, Guidepost Solutions is a recommended option. They are respected trustworthy and have extensive experience with these kinds of situations.

There are donors who have offered to contribute significantly to the cost if finances are a barrier to the investigation.

We are inviting others to join in requesting an investigation.

Request

We request an independent third-party investigation into the response to allegations of abuse at the Light of Hope Orphanage. We believe that this is necessary to determine the truth in conflicting accounts, provide accountability, and give recommendations to prevent a similar situation in the future. Questions about finances are a secondary issue and are not included in this request.

In the absence of a full investigation, we request BMA leadership to allow a professional independent assessment of the internal investigation that has been done.
